NORTHERN WARRIORS#Year: 2008
Ásmegin is a Norwegian black/folk/viking metal band formed in 1998. The name translates from Old Norse as "power of the god" (to wit the power of Thor, who was the bruiser of Asgard). They blend black metal with traditional folk melodies, using the violin; they also have a female vocalist. The lyrics are written in Norwegian as well as some Old Norwegian and Old Norse (the language of the Eddas).
