Nordavind was founded in October 2004, during a late evening over a table full of beer. Bjørn, Øystein and Daniel had already talked about starting a band some time before this night. Geir joined the party that evening by a coincidence and became the second guitarplayer. Thus the first line-up was complete: Bjørn on bass, Øystein and Geir on guitars and Daniel behind the drums. Øystein became our vocalist as well.

Throes of Dawn is a metal band from Vaasa, Finland, formed back in 1994 by Henri Koivula (vocals) and Jani Heinola (synth). Throes of Dawn’s music could be described as emotional dark metal with a progressive touch. Their sound is built on the combination of synths and guitars with screaming vocals and clean vocals. The lyrical concept of Throes of Dawn is often poetic and it deals with the deeper and darker aspects of the human psyche; like solitude, broken dreams and despair.

The history of “Kalevala” begins in spring 2007, when Ksenia and Nikita left “Nevid” (Moscow pagan-metal) after having arguments with Lesiar (the Nevid’s frontman).
After that scillfull and experienced musicians were found and group began to write new songs. The first demo was recorded in september 2007 and consisted of two songs “Pastushok”(“A cowboy”) and “Goy, Olen!” (“Goy, Deer!”). The first show was held on the 5th of october of the same year. The project began to evolve impetuously after that, and concerts were held not only in Mosow and Saint-Petersburg.
In april 2008 the label Sound Age Production released the first disk called “Kudel belosnedgnogo l’na”( “The Tow of the White-Snow Flax”). That really amazing mixture of cheerful folk tunes, unique Ksenia’s singing, highly skilled leading guitar and accordion play left very few people unfazed.

The story of Slumber began in early 2002 when Siavosh Bigonah, Ehsan Kalantar and Jari Lindholm sat down one day to write some music. There were no intentions of forming a band, it was just to ventilate some ideas and play some music with each other. The result of that session was the song “Labyrinth”. We all felt that we connected very well. We met a couple of weeks later and composed “A Wanderer’s Star”. At that point our little project turned serious and Slumber was officially born as a “band”.

NOKTURNAL MORTUM evolved from the 1991 vintage Black Death Metal act SUPPURATION. This early act featured frontman Knjaz Varggoth, bassist Xaarquarth and drummer Munruthel. Following the issue of SUPPURATION’s 1992 album 'Ecclesiastical Blasphemy' the band invited new members Sataroth and guitarist Wortherax prior to folding.

Aeba are one of the first pioneers of the second generation of Black Metal in Germany. They were founded in 1992 and were named Eternal Suffer. In 1994 they renamed the bandname to Aeba. It’s a buildup from the four archdemons Astaroth, Eurynome, Bael and Amducias who brought the Apocalypse. The lyrics are mostly satanic but the band insists that they are not a NSBM band and they don’t want to be understood like that.

Hecate Enthroned are a black metal band from the North Wales. The band formed in 1993 under the name Daemonum by singer Jon and guitarist Nigel. After a few practices and recording a demo, vocalist Jon left the band after taking up an offer to join Cradle of Filth as their bassist. However during which time Jon was also heavily involved in the production of Dusk… and her embrace. A year or so later, Jon rejoined and they changed their name to Hecate Enthroned, this time playing a more melodic black metal style. In 1995 they recorded their demo “Ode for a Haunted Wood”, which got the attention of the British label Blackend Records. Blackend had it re-mastered under the title Under Promethean Shores (Unscriptured Waters) in 1996.

Dark Funeral is a Black Metal Band from Sweden. Their music is describable in four words: loud, blasphemic and very fast. In contrast to some black metal bands the melodies are very extensive and complex. Dark Funeral was formed by Ahriman and Blackmoon in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1993. The two were joined by Draugen (drums) and Themgoroth (vocals and bass) before the group began rehearsing and writing material.

Ancient was originally a solo- project of guitarist and composer Aphazel, started in Norway in the year of 1992. Aphazel quickly developed his project of atmospheric and dark Black Metal into a full band with Grimm as vocalist/ drummer. The two released the “Eerily Howling Winds” demo and the “Det Glemte Riket” 7” in the years 1993 and 1994, and the band quickly established a strong following in the underground Black Metal scene worldwide, and, among others, Listenable Records/ Osmose noticed the potential of this band and released the debut album of Ancient namely “Svartalvheim”.

Unanimated are a melodic Black/Death Metal band formed in 1988 in Stockholm, Sweden. They released one untitled rehearsal demo (1990), one demo “Fire Storm” (1991) and two albums “In The Forest Of The Dreaming Dead” (1993) and “Ancient God Of Evil” (1995) before disbanding in 1996. In 2007 the band announced they were back together and had started work on a new album. In 2008 they played their first reunion gig in Stockholm and also a gig at the Party San festival in Germany was done. During October 2008 the new album “In the Light of Darkness” was recorded at Necromorbus Studio with producer Tore Stjerna.

The idea of Swallow the Sun was formed in Jyväskylä, Finland in spring 2000 by Juha Raivio. He had few songs that didn’t fit the style of his band at the time, Plutonium Orange. Pasi Pasanen was playing drums in Plutonium Orange at the time, so Juha started rehearsing the songs with him. In 2001 they started to look for people to play with - the first one to join the line-up was Markus Jämsen, whom Pasanen and Raivio already knew from their earlier projects. After Jämsen, along came Mikko Kotamäki from Funeris Nocturnum as the bassist/vocalist.
