Absu started in 1990 in Plano, TX (USA). Their musical style started with death metal but it soon evolved to black/thrash metal. Their lyrical content is mostly Celtic and Sumerian/Mesopotamian mythology. Proscriptor (vocals/drums) is, after the departure of both founding members Shaftiel (1991-2002) and Equitant Ifernain (1991-2002), the mastermind behind the band. With the album ‘Tara’, the band has completed a trilogy in which the first part is ‘The Third Storm of Cythraul’ and part two being ‘In the Eyes of Ioldanach’. It is based on old Celtic mythology.
