The story of Helheim started in 1992, when V’gandr and H’grimnir had the mutual idea of creating extreme metal music. But metal cannot be made without someone to fill the drumchair, and soon after Hrymr came along to complete the band. Already from the very beginning Helheim had high ambitions, and even without much experience they weren’t afraid to enter the stage. They played several festivals in Bergen just to get live experience from the start. In the mid of 1993 Nidhogg joined Helheim, and now they felt a demo should see the light of day. The summer went by, and in the fall the same year they released their debut demo simply entitled “Helheim”. The demo never made its way outside the borderlines of Norway as the band realized that the released material simply wasn’t good enough.

The name was inspired by an Immortal demo track, Enslaved in Rot. Enslaved was formed in 1991, by Ivar Bjørnson and Grutle Kjellson. Joined by drummer Trym Torsson, they did their first demo in the summer of 1992.

Fjoergyn is a German Avant-garde Black Metal band formed in 2003. Currently it consists of only two members, and they are looking for a drummer and a guitarist. The name “Fjoergyn” is the name of an Earth Goddess from Viking Mythology. On March 29, 2005 they released their debut album Ernte im Herbst on the record label Black Attakk. It is a concept album about nature’s revenge against mankind. They used a drum machine since they had no drummer at the time of the recording.

Belenos was brought to life in Northern France (Nord-Pas-de-Calais) back in 1995 as a celtic pagan metal band. The original line-up of Belenos consisted of Loïc (guitar, bass, vocals, programming) and Nathalie (guitar, lyrics). The first recording “Notre Amour Eternel” was recorded in May 1996. This demo sold more than 260 copies. The Italian label Polyphemus Records proposed an re-edition of the demo on CD limited to 500 copies. The re-release was released 18 months later, in March 1998.

SuidAkrA’s very beginnings lie back in the year of 1994 when vocalist / guitarist Arkadius Antonik and drummer Stefan Möller founded the band. In those years they called themselves ‘Gloryfication’. After two demos and the addition of Marcel Schoenen to the band, their name was subsequently changed. Their musical basis and background was a stylistic mixture of black metal and traditional heavy metal, enriched by some folk elements.

The historical context of the band’s name “Gernotshagen” is that there was an ancient settlement beneath the “Wallenburger Turm”, which has been the beginning of the town of Trusetal.

The band was formerly known as Thule (1993-1995); Høst then changed the name to Taake (the Norwegian word for "fog") in 1995 because he wanted the name to reflect the genuine Norwegian spirit of his music and lyrics. It is also a patriotic tribute to the fog that surrounds the seven mountains at his hometown Bergen. "Høst" itself means "Autumn" in Norwegian, referred to Høst's season of birth.

May be better than "N" this is really a Regeneration, but worse than TDUU. The new singer may sound like lindroos but he is not the genius Petri. This album is a new start for the band but old norther died, thanks Lindroos, hope you enjoy ensiferum, no regrets. Ensiferum is a great band but i prefer 2 great bands. btw wtf happens with jari meanpa and his album? what a guy...

Norther is a metal band from Helsinki, Finland. The band began in early 1996 under the name of Requiem, and was assembled by guitarist Petri Lindroos and drummer Toni Hallio accompanied by two other musicians. In the beginning, the band suffered from the lack of a proper rehearsal place, but in late 1997, guitarist Alexander Kuoppala (ex-Children of Bodom) found a suitable place for them to practice at Lepakko; around this time the band decided to change their name from Requiem to Decayed. Their luck was short-lived, however, as their new rehearsal place was soon to be demolished.

Primordial is an Irish band founded in the late 1980’s. They play a unique style of metal, which can best be described as a blend of black and folk metal with strong influences from their Irish roots. Their music and lyrics deal with cultural heritage, struggle, melancholy and anger.

Primordial started out as a black metal band with some folk influences with their 1993 demo Dark Romanticism and 1995 debut album Imrama. With the 1998 album A Journey’s End, Primordial underwent a strong stylistic change and delivered an album that was more original, personal and darker than anything they had done before.
