Arafel (“fog” in hebrew) was created in 1997 in Tel Aviv-Israel, by former Soviet Union origin youngsters. The band started to play Black Metal, influenced by Slavonic folk music. In April 1999 Arafel recorded their four demo songs “Skazki Starogo Lesa” (“Tales of Ancient Forest”) at Delphi studio, released by the Latvian label “Beverina”. 500 copies of this demo were released and totally sold out after a short time.

Tyranny is a Finnish funeral doom metal band. As of 2006, they have released an EP entitled Bleak Vistae and an LP entitled Tides of Awakening. Like most other funeral doom metal bands, their music is very slow and dreary, reminiscent of a funeral march. Almost all of Tyranny’s songs are of epic length - well over 10 minutes each.

Mercenary is a four-piece metal band from Denmark that combines both power metal and melodic death metal genres, and in their earlier work thrash metal. After the release of two demos, they were able to sign with Black Day Records, and released a four-song EP, Supremacy (1996). Dantalion was formed in Vigo, Spain, in mid 2004 by Naemoth, Neztja and Zeukram after the split-up of their previous band, completing the line-up with Maiestas. They began to write their first songs and playing their first live shows, with a good response from the audience. In mid 2005 Dantalion hits Oceano Studios to make their first recording, “When the Ravens Fly Over Me”, with 7 songs and a total time over 46 min. They extract three songs from this recording to conform a promo in order to present it to labels and media worldwide, receiving a deal to release their first album and getting good reviews.

Surt and Thorgrim have been playing together in several metal projects since high school, including Dark Eden, considered by many the best Brazilian doom metal band ever. They were later joined by Modi and Hjalmar, long time friends and brothers of war. In the last days of 2007 the four members decided they wanted to play heavier than ever and make songs about their passion: Norse mythology and Vikings. Hugin Munin was born. Turisas is a Finnish folk metal band from Hämeenlinna. They were founded in 1997 by Mathias Nygård and Jussi Wickström and named after an ancient Finnish god of war.

Turisas combine elements of folk metal and power metal, with perhaps some influences of symphonic metal as well. The album title Battle Metal has given rise to the term "battle metal" being used as a description of folk metal (as stated by Metal Hammer magazine) but it may not be a canonical metal subgenre.

Butterfly Temple is a pagan metal band from Moscow, Russia formed in 1995. They are signed under Metalism Records. Their lyrics are influenced by Fantasy, Paganism and Legends. So far, Butterfly Temple released 7 albums. Butterfly Temple was formed by Sergey ‘Aven’ Avanesov (keyboards), Mikhail Shmatko (rhythm guitar) and now former screamer Alexey ‘Lesyar’ Agafonov in Moscow, Russia back in 1995. All three were friends even since elementary school.

Drakum is a folk-metal band from Barcelona (Spain). The band started in December 2009, after a year looking for the right members. During the year 2010 we have been immersed in the composition of songs and recording our first demo.
Now in 2011 we are promoting the demo, starting doing live shows and looking for a label willing to bet on us and help us spread our music around the world.
The band influences go from folking bands as Korpiklaani, Eluveitie to death metal ones as Finntroll, Amon Amarth and some power metal bands such Alestorm, however the aim of Drakum is to do its folk-death metal own style.

Iskald represents ice cold and crystal clear black metal from the land of the midnight sun. Iskald shines like aurora borealis on the northern black metal hemisphere. Hailing from Sortland in the northern part of Norway, Iskald have crafted out what will most likely stand out as a future classic within the genre.

Fueled by the devotion to Norse mythology and the inspiration of arctic surroundings, founding members Simon Larsen and Aage Krekling, started up their black metal project, Iskald in early 2005.

Hibria is a Heavy Metal band from Brazil known for their technicality and speed. Their debut Defying the Rules was released in 2004. The band cites traditional metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Metallica, Judas Priest and Megadeth as influences, and also from more progressive groups such as Dream Theater.

Falkenbach is a one-man German folk/viking metal project created by Vratyas Vakyas (literally, “The Searching Wanderer”). Vratyas Vakyas lived in Iceland for a considerable time, but now lives in Düsseldorf, Germany again. Throughout the band’s lifetime, Falkenbach has progressed from a rawer, more “black” sound towards viking-influenced folk metal with mainly clean vocals. Vakyas’ music is nowdays accompanied by session musicians.
