myGRAIN is a Melodic Death Metal band from Helsinki, Finland. They are currently signed to Spinefarm Records. They have released two studio albums. myGRAIN saw daylight in the summer of 2004, as Tommy (vocals), Resistor (guitar) and Matthew (guitar) were standing in the ruins of their former band, New Science Band. The guys had been playing together since 1999 and their collaboration still worked well, so they decided to start a new band with this lineup.

Helrunar (᛬ᚻᛖᛚᚱᚢᚾᚨᚱ᛬) is a Black Metal band from Münster/Osnabrück, Germany. Formed in 2001, it’s one of the few bands that could already convince with their first demo, which is called “Grátr” and was released in 2003. In 2005 a split ep with Nachtmahr followed and later that year they release their first album “Frostnacht” which is a must have for every black metal fan! Their music is atmospheric and melancholic but aggressive as well.

Legion of the Damned is a death/thrash metal band originally from Geldrop, Netherlands. They were formerly known as Occult, but decided to change their name to Legion of the Damned in 2004. They unleashed their first thrashing metal storm on the 6th of January 2006. “Malevolent Rapture” was an uncompromising slab of killer death/thrash reminiscent of the masters of the eighties packed in a modern killer sound by Andy Classen and received many killer reviews in the press. The band showed to be able to combine furious thrash mayhem with midpaced neckbreaking rhythms, translocating the realm of the eighties into the new millenium.

Ukrainian Black / Doom Metal project Raventale was founded in 2005 in Kiev, Ukraine. It was during this period the first demo recordings appeared. The group was looking for a label to publish its first disc; they did not have to wait very long. In 2006, they were signed in Russia via Backfire productions and released their first album “На Хрустальных Качелях”. At the same time, they started work on recording new songs, and by 2007 the material was ready for publication. But given the gap in the collaborative relationship with Backfire production, they had to look for a new label, which delayed the release of their album.

In a move which seeks to showcase their musical specialties, record labels such as Prophecy Productions will occasionally sell themselves to likely consumers by putting out a carefully selected compilation CD with the best of their bands’ repertoire. However, it’s rarely seen that these bands will be linked together by something other than genre or even icon tributes; which is where ‘Whom The Moon A Nightsong Sings‘ draws its own niche, to set itself apart from other label packages. Bringing musicians together under the aesthetic theme that the two-disc release’s title describes; it may be that this is one relatively small step for Prophecy and another step forward for creative integrity in the ocean of the current music industry.

This is maybe the Compilation which is most purely pagan metal. There are not Black Metal Bands, we decided to focus on the Folk and MDM bands. In previous compilations some of you asked for more Folk, and for us is perfect cause are the Folk bands what are the less known and harder to find and as always the point with this compilation is to promote what we think is good metal and not always well-known.

I love almost all songs on this compilation, and I hope you know bands as Varg, Minas Morgul, I, Kromlek and also Stormlord cause they are huge. And I hope you discover bands like Thiasos Dionysos with their surprising song, tell me if it sounds familiar to you ;). There are also beautiful songs with Fferyllt and Gravesmond.

Oh, and remember it is today 3 years ago when we disembarked and started to fulfill the web with the metal we like the most. 1133 Albums uploaded so far, and remember we are only two friends doing all the job, and previous a upload we listen and evaluate the quality of the album. We do not do free or easy post like other blogs, we investigate and discover quality bands for you. And of course we do unique compilations cause we dont just put the most popular bands of a style any song at any order like other blogs. We made compilations for experts but also for ppl only willing to discover bands.

Solefald is a metal band from Norway that was formed by members Lars Are “Lazare” Nedland and Cornelius Jakhelln in August 1995, with Lars singing and playing keyboard/synthesizer/piano and drums, and Cornelius singing and playing guitar and bass. The meaning of the band’s name is best explained in an interview from Century Media Records website. Lazare states “Solefald is an old norse word for sunset. We “stole” it from a painting by the Norwegian artist Theodor Kittelsen. His two paintings “Soleglad” and “Solefald” portrays the cycle of being, and we found it to be a very fitting idea for our band.

Yaotl Mictlan is the result of 500 years of lies, genocide, oppression, suffering, colonization, occupation, and theft of the Indigenous people' land and pride of Mexico, Central and South America.
